Xbox Gamepass will be receiving 8 new games during May. Two of which will be available on their launch dates and six from May 1st. No word on which games may be leaving the service in their place so, none, in fact, may leave the service. Either way, two brand new games will be joining which is the continuation of them adding games at launch, continuing their promise to do so with their first launch addition of Sea of thieves.

The games being added this coming month are:

State of Decay 2

State of Decay 2 is the ultimate zombie survival fantasy that asks – how will you survive? A sequel to the hugely successful first game, you take on the zombie apocalypse as you build a community with unique survivor characters who have their own backstories and motivations and develop a base that makes each experience completely different.

In addition, State of Decay 2 features one of the most requested features from the community: cross-platform co-op multiplayer, where you and up to three of your friends can survive together on Xbox One or Windows 10 PC. State of Decay 2 is available for Xbox Game Pass members on May 22nd.

The Escapists

Award-winning prison break simulation The Escapists is coming to Xbox Game Pass on May 1. While the aim of the game is simply to escape, the beauty is in your execution. You’re free to explore the prison, grabbing every chance to plan your escape between the mandatory rollcalls and chores.

Unmechanical: Extended is a critically acclaimed puzzle adventure game that combines puzzle solving, exploration, and an engrossing atmosphere, and is available for Xbox Game Pass members on May 1. Players can look forward to losing themselves in a world of flesh, rock, and steel, solving a whole host of puzzling challenges, and helping our little robot, who is trapped in an underground complex, to find his way to freedom.

And the only backward compatible title joining the lineup is:

Sonic & Knuckles

Sonic and Knuckles join forces. Enjoy a different experience in the world of Sonic where adversaries work as one. Join Sonic and Knuckles from May 1, as they join forces to beat the schemes of the genius Dr. Eggman. Their goal is to find the Master Emerald and save Angel Island. You can play as Sonic or as Knuckles to defeat Dr. Eggman. With eight zones to explore and two adventures to conquer. And to enhance your experience, you can combine with Sonic 3 to play as Sonic, Knuckles, and even Tails to unlock the best secrets. Also, you can combine with Sonic 2 and all of Knuckles signature moves are now yours.

On top of these additions coming next month, from now until May 8th (or M8 day), any new members of Gamepass can get their first month for the low price of AU$1! That’s a saving of $9.95 for your first month of the game pass if you’re a new subscriber.
